Hello, I’m Tony King, proud owner, founder and director of TWK ELECTRICAL LTD. With my son, Jed, and team of qualified electricians, we’ve been serving the electrical needs of both domestic and commercial properties in people of the surrounding areas of Berkshire, Newbury, Thatcham, Reading, since 2009.
In a few years to come I’ll hopefully be handing the reigns over to my son, Jed, so I can take a step back and go on even more holidays.
I started my electrical career at Taylor and Goodman, while doing evening courses.
After a good five years training to be an electrician, I then joined Courage Brewery in Reading as a Maintenance Electrician. I stayed at Courage for the next 16 years, only leaving when the site closed in 2010. This was to prove a turning point for me, as I seized the opportunity and set up TWK ELECTRICAL LTD, as an NICEIC approved contractor.
This is Jed, my son. In a few years he’ll be taking over the reigns of the company when I step back. I’m not sure if he relishes the opportunity or is slightly dreading it – I think it’s the former.
Jed started at TWK Electrical as an apprentice when he finished school in 2014, becoming fully qualified in March 2018.
As an animal lover, Jed has two cats of his own, he seems to be a bit of a hit with our customers’ pets – they’re always drawn to him and he says it’s not his fault if he has to stop a moment to tickle a tummy or two.

Boxing Day 2015
Today is Boxing Day 2015 – This morning the electrics in my house tripped, and nothing I tried would get them back on. My heart sank. I started calling round to see who would help me – many said no – its Boxing Day. But Tony didn’t. Not only was he prepared to come out, but prompt in arrival, solved the issue – checked all was well, and his charges were incredibly reasonable in the circumstances. Thank you Tony, you prevented me having a minor breakdown. I would recommend you to anyone, and will be calling you for all future electrical requirements.
